The Church had tremendous influence in America's early culture, and the Bible was even used in early American schools as a textbook. Children were taught Christian morals, respect for others and themselves, and were taught responsibility.
Scripture verses are plentiful throughout our government facilities in Washington, D.C., as well as early university campuses indicating the influence of the Word of God on the culture of that day.
The Church in America has been an instrumewnt that God has used to spread His Word around the world. It was the Salt and Light that flavoured the country and lighted the path of the nation.
Why now does the Church in America appear to be so impotent that it cannot effectively lift up Jesus Christ and the gospel of salvation and deliverance to desperate people seeking an answer during a national crisis? What happened to that Salt that for nearly two hundred years preserved and flavored our land? What happened to that Light that illuminated the paths of righteousness and discernment of right and wrong?
