Authors: Dr. Douglas Stauffer and Dr. Larry Spargimino

This volume examines the life, works, and influence of C. S. Lewis (1898– 1963). For years Lewis has been held in high esteem in the college and seminary classrooms. Now, however, he is coming into the hearts of a another generation of unsuspecting people worldwide by virtue of the new movie, "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" and its scheduled sequels.

While most evangelicals are overjoyed at Lewis’ growing popularity, some are concerned regarding what Lewis really believed and taught — issues that have not been adequately addressed.

We should always examine what an author stood for prior to endorsing his works and helping to expand his influence. Dr. Stauffer and Dr. Spargimino investigate the individual who has now become an icon among American evangelicals, as well as others.

Because the Bible commands us to "prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil," we believe that we have scriptural warrant for such an investigation.
