The Bible contains dozens of scriptural examples where God used natural elements - earthquakes, storms, wind, and water to bring judgments upon nations. Daniel 4:17 says God sends judgment upon nations and their rulers "to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdoms of men."

All anyone who accepts the Bible as God's inspired Word has to do to document that He will bring judgments upon any nation that defies His will is to read Deuteronomy chapters 28-30.

Most church members today have little doubt that God has judged Israel for the rejection of their Messiah, but the same church members have a problem with evidence that God would judge the United States for our national sins.

Wars, famines, and natural disasters, biblically and historically, can be associated with the failure of rulers and nations to accommodate God's ordinances for righteous government and to give all citizens the freedom to come to the knowledge of the truth that Jesus Christ is the only peacemaker between God and men (I Timothy 2:5).

To say that God does not rule in the affairs of men and nations is unthinkable.
