CHINA MISSIONS
Since 1989, Southwest Radio Ministries has sponsored mission tours to China, directed specifically to visit home and non-government controlled churches.
An important part of our sponsored Chinese mission effort is to deliver Bibles and teaching materials in the Chinese language from outside sources to home and independent churches. Thousands of Rev. Hutchings' Happiness tract, presenting the Gospel in Mandarin Chinese, have been distributed throughout China.
According to the CIA World Factbook (www.cia.gov), China has a population of over 1 billion people. China is almost as big as the United States and its economy is now exploding. Just a few short decades ago, most people rode bicycles - now more and more people have the income to buy and drive cars and live more financially comfortable lives.
However, the Chinese government still persecutes Christians and the Christian church. According to Voice of the Martyrs (www.persecution.com), China arrests and imprisons more Christians than any other country in the world. Yet the Christian church in China continues to grow, with approximately 3,000 Chinese believers added to the church each day.
