WILLS AND LEGACIES
A will is a person's statement regarding the disposition of his or her property that is made public upon the death of that person. A will is not valid until that person has died. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator (Hebrews 9:16).
WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE A WILL
Unless the Lord comes first, it is certain that we will all die. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). A proper will insures that your wishes will be carried out concerning the disbursement of your estate after your death.
A will also provides peace of mind for your family and loved ones. The loss of a loved one is always an emotional time for family and friends, whether it is expected or not. It is not always easy for family members to make important financial decisions and arrangements at such a difficult and emotional time.
A will makes those important decisions for your loved ones ahead of time, insuring that they are properly taken care of after your death and the Lord is honored in your financial decisions and arrangements.
Dave Ramsey, well-known Christian financial counselor, recommends that everyone over the age of 18 have a will.
Whatever decisions you make concerning your will, you should seek the advice of a trusted financial counselor or advisor.
WHY YOU SHOULD REMEMBER SOUTHWEST RADIO MINISTRIES IN YOUR WILL
Southwest Radio Church Ministries, founded in April 1933, is the oldest continuing Christian communications ministry in the United States. This ministry fulfills the Great Commission in missionary outreach around the world: Sudan, Mongolia, Nepal, India, China, Russia, Israel, South Korea, Central America, and more.
Southwest Radio Ministries continues to maintain a fundamental Gospel standard in regard to contending for the faith once delivered to the saints. In this regard, our Statement of Faith has not changed since the ministry was founded. We use and reference only the 1611 King James Version of the Bible.
Southwest Radio Ministries is governed by a board of seven trustees, elected yearly by the membership, with the highest degree of budget accountability. This is to insure contributions and legacies from wills go where the givers intend.
After prayerful consideration, we hope that you will remember Southwest Radio Ministries in any will you make. You have the Lord's promise that He will be honored in any such decision.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
