ITINERARY
Meals Included: B=Breakfast, D=Dinner
December 1-2 (Tuesday & Wednesday) - Newark en route (D): We depart from Newark, New Jersey on Continental flight CO#84 at 3:55 p.m. and fly overnight directly to Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, Israel and arrive at 9:15 a.m. next day. Flight is approximately eleven hours. Meals served according to airline schedule. On landing, we proceed through immigration and baggage. We will meet our Israel guide, Hela, and drive to the HaSharon Hotel in Herzelya for dinner and overnight.

December 3 (Thursday) - Caesarea/Mt. Carmel/Mt. Megiddo (B/D): After a good night's rest and typical Israeli buffet breakfast, we will board our bus and begin the tour of a lifetime. Each day we begin our journey with prayer, Bible reading, and devotions. With each site we will study the related Scriptures explaining its biblical and historical significance by Bro. Hutchings and our guide. Our first stop will be a brief visit at Caesarea, a large Roman coastal city where Paul was imprisoned for two years (Acts 23:23–26:32). Continuing north toward Haifa, we will visit Mt. Carmel where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18). Driving southeast, we will visit Mt. Megiddo to view the future battleground of Armageddon (Rev. 16:16). Here Christ will gather and crush the forces of the Antichrist in a final battle before ushering in His Kingdom. Descending the mountains, we drop to 650 feet below sea level as we enter Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee and check into the Sheraton hotel for the next three nights. Dinner at the hotel.
December 4 (Friday) - Galilee (B/D): After breakfast, we will board a wooden boat similar to those used in Jesus’ day and will sail onto the Sea of Galilee for a time of refreshing. We will then drive to Tabga, the traditional site where Jesus fed the 5,000 with five loaves and two fish (Matt. 6:19). We will then visit the "Jesus Boat" museum and view a boat recovered in 1986 from the Sea of Galilee that dates back to the time of Jesus. Our next stop will be to visit the site of the Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5:1–7:29).). Next, we will tour the sites of the three cities that Jesus cursed: Capernaum (where we will have a time of Bible study and devotion), Chorazin, and Bethsaida (Matt 11:20–25). These are the three cities in Israel that have never been rebuilt. To highlight the day, we will hold a baptismal service in the Jordan River for anyone wanting to be baptized. Towels and gowns for baptism are available for a small fee. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

December 5 (Saturday) - Dan/Caesarea Philippi/Golan Heights (B/D): After breakfast, we will drive north to the Lebanese/Syrian border where we will visit the Dan River and Forest Reserve along with the ancient city of Dan. Here we view the Canaanite gate that Abraham passed through in his quest to rescue Lot and his family from Amraphel, king of Syria (Gen. 14:1), and visit the High Place at Tel Dan where Jereboam set up the golden calf and the sacrificial altar. Leaving Tel Dan, we then travel to Ceasarea Philippi and visit the site where Jesus told Peter that He would establish His church (Matt.16:18). Then on to the Golan Heights, the land of Bashan mentioned in Ezek. 39:18 where the armies of Gog are destined to be destroyed. Here view the relics of the miraculous victories of Israel in the wars of 1948, 1967, and 1973. Next, we will visit the Gamla bird and animal reserve east of the Sea of Galilee where 5,000 Jews plunged to their deaths in a.d. 66 rather that surrender to the Romans. Here under the leadership of the historian Josephus, the Jews held off for two years before being overcome. It is also here that we will see vultures and biblical animal life returning to Israel, a major prophetic sign (Isa. 34:15). Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Tiberias.
December 6 (Sunday) - Beit She'an/Jordan (B/D): After breakfast we will board our bus and drive southward to Beit She'an, the ancient city where Saul’s body was nailed to the walled city’s gate (1 Sam. 31). Afterward, we will cross the Hussein Bridge into Jordan. We then continue south on the King’s Highway to the Plains of Moab and Mt. Nebo. It was here that Moses viewed the Jordan Valley and the Promised Land before his death at the age of 120 years (Deut. 34). Stand where Moses stood and gaze across the Jordan River into the Land of Milk and Honey. Next, we will stop at the ancient city of Madaba (Medeba of Num. 21:30) famous as "the city of mosaics" to view an ancient mosaic map depicting Israel and Jordan with Jerusalem at its center. It originally measured 25 × 5 meters and contained more than 2 million colored mosaic stones. We continue south Al Karak, famous for the Crusader castle situated on a hilltop 3,000 feet above the Dead Sea. The city is thought to be Kir (Amos 1:5; 9:7), where Tiglath–pileser sent the Syrian prisoners after conquering Damascus (2 Kings 16). We then continue south to the city of Petra where we will check in at the Crown Plaza Petra Hotel for dinner and overnight.

December 7 (Monday) - Petra (B/D): After breakfast, we will drive a short distance to the sprawling city of Petra, the largest "ghost town" in the world. We enter by a one–mile cleft in the rock, the Ciq, with its sides towering 250 feet above the passage floor. At the entrance we will be greeted by one of the most photographed architectural sites in the world, the Treasury Building. It is widely known for its appearance in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Here we also find Mt. Seir (Gen. 36:8), whose highest point is Mt. Hor, the burial place of Aaron, the brother of Moses (Num. 20:28). Petra may be the safe place that will host Israel during the last half of the Tribulation period. After lunch, we will continue south to the border crossing of Aqaba to cross into Israel. Upon arrival at Eilat we will check in at the Crown Plaza Hotel for the next two nights. Dinner and overnight.

December 8 (Tuesday) - Eilat (B/D): After breakfast, we will travel to Solomon’s Pillars, a geological formation formed by wind erosion over thousands of years. Also, Timna Park, a beautiful nature park with biblical animals. This is the area where Solomon’s copper mines are still evident. We will return to Eilat for lunch. This afternoon is free to do as you please. For those interested, we will visit the Eilat stone factory, or some may want to visit the world famous aquarium on your own. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
December 9 (Wednesday) - Masada/Ein Gedi/Dead Sea (B/D): This morning after breakfast, be will begin our trek northward along the Dead Sea that is 1,400 feet below sea level, the lowest place on Earth. Towering above the sea is the ancient fortress of Masada, the last Jewish stronghold to fall to the Romans in A.D. 72. Here we will ferry to the top of the mount where more than 1000 Jews took their own lives rather than fall into the hands of the Romans. Continuing north we will next visit Ein Gedi, complete with a beautiful spring, waterfall, and biblical wildlife such as the ibex and coney. It was here that David cut off the hem of Saul’s garment as he slept in a cave (I Sam. 24). We will then drive to the Isrotel Dead Sea Hotel for dinner and overnight. Those who would like to swim in the Dead Sea will have time this evening.

December 10 (Thursday) - Journey to Jerusalem (B/D): After breakfast, we begin our journey north to Jerusalem. Our first stop will be at Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We then continue on to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight at the Olive Tree Hotel, our home for the next three nights.
December 11-13 (Friday-Sunday) - Jerusalem (B/D): After breakfast, we begin a three–day tour of the most important city in the world. Sites will include: Mt. of Olives, the Old City, the Temple Mount, the Jewish Quarter, the Upper Room, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Garden Tomb, Golgotha, Holocaust Museum, the Western Wall, the Pool of Bethesda, St. Ann’s Church, Mt. Zion, Via Delarosa, the Damascus Gate, and the Temple Institute if possible. A visit to Bethlehem will be decided according to time and political restraints. On the evening of Dec. 13, we will have our farewell dinner and make ready to depart for home on Continental Airlines flight CO#91 at 11:40 p.m. Meals served according to airline schedule.
December 14 (Monday) - Return to Newark: We will arrive in Newark at 4:50 a.m. to make our way to our separate homes with memories of the greatest tour of our lives. Remember to say your goodbyes at the luggage carousal before you head for your domestic flights home.
