ITINERARY
Meals Included: B=Breakfast, D=Dinner
November 10-11 (Monday & Tuesday) - JFK Airport en route (D/B): Depart from New York JFK on Delta flight DL #26 at 4:20 p.m., flying overnight directly to Amman, Jordan, and arrive at 11:00 a.m. next day. Meals served according to airline schedule. On landing, we process through immigration and baggage. We will then meet our Jordanian guide and drive north a few miles to the ancient Roman city of Jerash, one of the Decapolis cities founded in the 2nd century B.C. It contains Hadrian's Arch and the temples of Zeus, Artemis, and Nympheum, to mention just a few. At one time it was home to a large Christian community with more than thirteen churches. It is considered one of the most important and best-preserved Roman cities of the Near East. We then drive back to Amman to the Radisson SAS Hotel for dinner and overnight.

November 12 (Wednesday) - Amman, Plains of Moab (B/D): After a good night’s rest and a great buffet breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and board our bus for a short tour of the capital city of Amman. In Deuteronomy 3:11 it is called "Rabbath of the children of Ammon," ruled by the giant King Og whose iron bedstead was nine cubits long. Another Decapolis city, Amman is a beautiful city of white limestone with an abundance of sites such as Roman theaters and Byzantine churches. We then continue south on the King's Highway to the Plains of Moab and Mt. Nebo. It was here that Moses viewed the Jordan Valley and the Promised Land before his death at the age of 120 years (Deut. 34). Stand where Moses stood and gaze across the Jordan River into the "Land of Milk and Honey." Next, we will stop at the ancient city of Madaba (Medeba of Num. 21:30), famous as "the city of mosaics," to view an ancient mosaic map depicting Israel and Jordan with Jerusalem at its center. It originally measured 25 X 5 meters and contained more than 2 million colored mosaic stones. King David's army defeated the Ammonites here, as told in I Chronicles 19:7-19. After Madaba, we continue south down the King's Highway to Al Karak, famous for the Crusader castle situated on a hilltop three thousand feet above the Dead Sea. The city is thought to be Kir (Amos 1:5; 9:7), where Tiglath-pileser sent the Syrian prisoners after conquering Damascus (2 Kings 16). We then continue south on the King's Highway to the city of Petra, where we will check in at the Crown Plaza Hotel for dinner and overnight.
November 13 (Thursday) - Petra (B/D): After breakfast, we will drive a short distance to the sprawling city of Petra, the largest "ghost town" in the world. We enter by a one-mile cleft in the rock, the Ciq, with its sides towering 250 feet above the passage floor. At the entrance we will immediately be greeted by one of the most photographed architectural sites in the world, the Treasury Building. It is widely known for its appearance in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Here we also find Mt. Seir (Gen. 36:8), whose highest point is Mt. Hor, the burial place of Aaron, the brother of Moses (Num. 20:28). Petra may be the safe place that will host Israel during the Tribulation period. After lunch, on the way to Eilat, we will visit Wadi Rumm, where the movie Lawrence of Arabia was filmed. After Wadi Rumm we will continue south to the border crossing of Aqaba to cross into Israel. Upon arrival at Eilat we will check in at the Crown Plaza Hotel for dinner and overnight.

November 14 (Friday) - Masada/Ein Gedi/Dead Sea (B/D): After breakfast we will begin our trek northward along the Dead Sea that is fourteen hundred feet below sea level, the lowest place on Earth. Towering above the sea is the ancient fortress of Masada, the last Jewish stronghold to fall to the Romans in A.D. 72. Here we will ferry to the top of the mount where more than one thousand Jews took their own lives rather than fall into the hands of the Romans. Continuing north we will next visit Ein Gedi, complete with a beautiful spring, waterfall, and biblical wildlife such as the ibex and coney. It was here that David cut off the hem of Saul's garment as he slept in a cave (I Sam. 24). We will then drive to the Isrotel Dead Sea Hotel for dinner and overnight. Those who would like to swim in the Dead Sea will have time this evening.
November 15 (Saturday) - Qumran/Beit She'an (B/D): After breakfast we will continue driving northward to our final destination of the day, Tiberias. Before leaving the Dead Sea area, we will visit Qumran, the cave site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Along the way we will also stop at Beit She'an, the ancient city where Saul's body was nailed to the walled city's gate (I Sam. 31). Other sites will be visited as time permits. We will then begin our descent to the city of Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee, six hundred fifty feet below sea level, and check into the Sheraton Tiberias Hotel for dinner and overnight.

November 16 (Sunday) - Galilee (B/D): After breakfast we will board a wooden boat similar to those used in Jesus’ day and will sail onto the Sea of Galilee for a time of refreshing. We will then drive to Tabga, the traditional site where Jesus fed the 5,000 with five loaves and two fish (Matt. 6:19). We will then visit the "Jesus Boat" museum and view a boat recovered from the Sea of Galilee discovered in 1986 that dates back to the time of Jesus. Our next stop will be to visit the site of the Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5:1–7:29). Next, we will tour the sites of the three cities that Jesus cursed: Capernaum (where we will have a time of Bible study and devotion), Chorazin, and Bethsaida (Matt. 11:20–25). These are the three cities in Israel that have never been rebuilt. To highlight the day, we will hold a baptismal service in the Jordan River for anyone wanting to be baptized. Towels and gowns for baptism are available for a small fee. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

November 17 (Monday) - Safed/Dan/Ceasarea Philippi/Golan (B/D): After breakfast we drive north to visit the Kabbalah city of Safed (time permitting), reported to have been established in A.D. 70, the same year that Jerusalem was destroyed by Rome. Continuing on northward to the Lebanese/Syrian border, we will visit the Dan River and Forest Reserve along with the ancient city of Dan. Here we view the Canaanite gate that Abraham passed through in his quest to rescue Lot and his family from Amraphel, king of Syria (Gen. 14:1). We will visit Tel Dan and the High Place where Jereboam set up the golden calf and the altar where Israel sacrificed before this idol. Leaving Tel Dan, we will travel to Ceasarea Philippi and visit the site where Jesus told Peter that He would establish His church (Matt. 16:18). Then on to the Golan Heights, the land of Bashan, where the armies of Gog are destined to be destroyed according to Ezekiel 39:18. Here we will see the relics of the miraculous victories by Israel in the wars of 1948, 1967, and 1973. Next, we will visit the Gamla bird and animal reserve east of the Sea of Galilee where 5,000 Jews plunged to their deaths in A.D. 66 rather than surrender to the Romans. Here under the leadership of the historian Josephus, the Jews held off for two years before being overcome. It is also here there we will see vultures and biblical animal life returning to Israel, a major prophetic sign (Isa. 34:15). Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
November 18 (Tuesday) - Journey to Jerusalem (B/D): After breakfast we begin our journey south to Jerusalem. On the way we will stop at Mt. Meggido to view the future battleground of Armageddon (Rev. 16:16). Here Christ will gather and crush the forces of Antichrist in a final battle before ushering in His Kingdom. Continuing on, we travel to Haifa and visit Mt. Carmel where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal (I Kings 18), Elijah's cave, and a Druze village. Then we will continue on to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight at the Olive Tree Hotel.

November 19-21 (Wednesday-Friday) - Jerusalem (B/D): After breakfast we begin a three-day tour of the most important city in the world. The sites will include: the Mt. of Olives, the Old City, a model of the Old City, the Temple Mount, the Jewish Quarter, the Upper Room, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Garden Tomb, Golgotha, Yad Vashem (Holocaust Museum), the Western Wall, the Pool of Bethesda, St. Ann’s Church, Mt. Zion, Caiaphas’ house, Solomon’s quarry, the Via Delarosa, the Damascus Gate, and the Temple Institute, if possible. A visit to Bethlehem will be decided according to time and political restraints. Each evening we will return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. On the night of the November 21 we will have our farewell dinner and make ready to depart for home on Delta Airlines flight DL #87 at 12:40 a.m. the next morning. Meals served according to flight schedules.
November 22 (Saturday) - Return to JFK New York City: We will arrive at JFK to make our way to our separate homes with memories of the greatest tour of our lives.
