It Is Going To Happen
It Is Going to Happen
A subject that you may not hear too much about in church, it is called the “Rapture”. Jesus said in John 14: verses 1-2-3, Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not true I would have told you. And if I go to prepare a place for you. I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am there ye may be also.
Jesus made it clear that He is coming back for His church to be with Him and God. The word rapture does not appear in the Bible. It comes from the Latin word raptus, meaning caught away, or caught up. For those who are Christians this is something that we need to be looking for. What a joy it will be that day, when Jesus comes back for us. It reminds me of when we were kids and Christmas was coming. We all got excited knowing that we were going to get presents.
We couldn’t wait for Christmas to get here. This should be the same feeling that we as Christians should have knowing that Jesus will soon be coming for us. We don’t seem to be very excited about this event. We have become complacent and want to rest on our laurels. Pastors need to preach more about the rapture to prepare us for that day. No one knows when it will happen, and we should not try to set a date for it.
Jesus told us in Revelation 16:15, Behold I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepth his garments lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. He warned us to be ready because there will be NO warning. He will just appear and in a moment when we think not. 1 Corinthians 15 verses 51-52 states, Behold I show you a mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised uncorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Another scripture that supports the rapture is 1 Thessalonians 4: 15 through 18. It states, For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and the with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. What a tremendous time that will be. Knowing that this future event will take place. What joy, what comfort, what a great time that will be. When we are finally taken out of this world to be reunited with our loved ones who have gone on before us.
We should shout with all our might and give God praise for this event. It will be a time of great and wonderful joy. Once we are taken out of this world you don’t want to be “LEFT BEHIND”.
It will not be a place that you will want to be. Those who are left behind will face God’s wrath. There will be those who know what has happened and they will cry in anguish because they missed the rapture. There will still be those who will refuse to believe but it will be to their peril. Therefore, it is so important to be ready. Jesus simply said; be ready. The rapture is going to happen, are you ready for it? This article is not meant to scare you but to prepare you for the coming of the Lord for His people. The rapture is for believers. You may ask how can I become a believer? Simply receive Jesus as your savior, ask Him to forgive you of your sins and begin to live a life for Him.
It isn’t a matter of if the rapture will happen, it is when. I pray that you will be ready because IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.
