President Barack Hussien Obama has done more to degrade this country’s prestige and respect by both domestic and foreign partners than any other president in our nation’s history. If his past performance is any indicator of what we still have in store then we have to get ready for a rocky year. Is he a “lame duck” or “dead duck”? In his last year at the helm he can do immeasurable damage to our safety and economy. He is a master deceiver and has traits of the coming anti-Christ. With the stroke of his pen, Obama can sign Presidential Directives that will bind us to the United Nations that will carry this nation into the Tribulation Period. It was once said that “the pen is mightier than the sword”, believe it.
One of his recent addresses he paused to shed tears about children killed by murderers who used guns to accomplish their foul deeds. The question is “why didn’t he shed tears when it happened”? because it was not politically expedient at the time. However, when he had the attention of the known world as his audience, he focused his crosshairs on gun owners. “First-graders in Newtown, First-graders,” Obama said, as tears rolled down his cheeks. “Every time I think about those kids, it gets me mad. And by the way, it happens on the streets of Chicago every day.”
Even though kids may be killed in Chicago every day, no one has ever reported seeing Obama shed a single tear over their deaths and that fact may still stand. Most conservative critics (with the exception of Donald Trump) believe that his tears were fake, caused by some chemical or even raw onion on his finger. He seemed to have no tears until he swiped his finger under his left eye and then his right eye. Only then, did we see any tears. Were these simply crocodile tears?
“Crocodile tears are a false, insincere display of emotion such as a hypocrite crying fake tears of grief.” “The expression comes from an ancient anecdote that crocodiles weep for the victims they are eating. A collection of proverbs attributed to Plutarch suggests that the phrase “crocodile tears” was well known in antiquity; comparing the crocodile’s behavior to people who desire or cause the death of someone, but then publicly lament for them.” (www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crocodile_tears)
If Obama’s tears are crocodile tears faked by use of a Hollywood prop, then he is publically shedding tears of joy, not sorrow, while consuming and gloating over his prey, gun owners of American, while signing a Presidential Directive to limit or confiscate our last line of defense against tyranny. Obama and his administration are lockstep with the United Nations in its goal to disarm the American citizens. At the present time, our 2nd Amendment is holding off the disarmament of the entire world that would allow the powers that be take control of our lives.
The United Nations parent treaty is “The Arms Trade Treaty”. “Under the landmark Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) countries regulate the international trade in conventional weapons- from small arms to battle tanks, combat aircraft and warships- and work to prevent the diversion of arms and ammunitions.” To implement this treaty, “State parties to the ATT “may need assistance” in implementing the Treaty.” In other words, the United Nations will be the enforcement arm of the treaty. (www.un.org/disarmament/ATT)
The next major concern is the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The TPP has been one of the trade goals of the Obama administration. It is supposed to be of the same type of free trade agreement as NAFTA and CAFTA. However, it is much more dangerous to the American economy. Even Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders disagrees with Obama on its purpose. Sanders has this to say about the TPP, “The Trans-Pacific Partnership is a disastrous trade agreement designed to protect the interests of the largest multi-national corporations at the expense of workers, consumers, the environment and the foundations of the American democracy. It will negatively impact some of the poorest people in the world.”
This agreement is dangerous because the American people and even Congress does not know what it contains (so much for transparency). It will allow corporations to outsource jobs overseas to companies that hire lower income workers and weaken environment concerns, intellectual property, food safety, human rights, jobs, and prescription drug quality. The current member states are Vietnam, United States, Singapore, Peru, New Zealand, Mexico, Malaysia, Japan, Chile, Canada, Brunei, and Australia.
Current trade agreements between the member states such as NAFTA will be absorbed into TPP. The United States considers the proposed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) with Europe a companion agreement. In other words, the real goal of these agreements is to bring the globe under one trade umbrella. Soon the entire earth will be governed by the same administrative group, eventually under one person.
“The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership is a series of trade negotiations being carried out mostly in secret between the EU and US. As a bi-lateral trade agreement, TTIP is about reducing the regulatory barriers to trade for big business, things like food safety law, environmental legislation, banking regulations and the sovereign powers of individual nations. John Hilary, Executive Director of campaign group War on Want, said: “An assault on European and US societies by transnational corporations.” Since the negotiations began the process has been secretive and undemocratic. (www.independent.co.uk)
The article lists six reasons why the TTIP should scare the Brits: public services of Britain could be privatized and open to US companies; food and environmental safety could be brought in line with U.S. which could allow GM foods, pesticides, and growth hormones in beef; tougher banking regulations could be brought in line with looser Euporean banking regulations; anti-counterfeiting laws could be re-instituted; and an inherent assault on democracy.
There are at least 20 different trade agreements worldwide. One of the largest is the South Asia Free Trade Area (SAFTA). It consisted of a trade agreement signed in January, 2004 by seven countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. It has a combined population of over 1.8 billion people. It is a trade agreement that requires the reduction of custom duties to zero by the year 2016.
These agreements could well lead into the seven year Tribulation Period when the anti-Christ will determine all trade, “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” (Rev. 13:16-18)
Climate change is another one of Obama’s heart throbs and one of the largest hoaxes ever is “Climate Change”. Even though science has proven that man has little if anything to do with global warming, UN advocates stroke each other’s ego by agreeing with each other. The UN has this to say, “Countries have recognized that climate change presents an ever growing threat to development, poverty eradication efforts, and the welfare of their citizens.” (www.un.org) The ultimate goal of the UN and its cronies such as Obama is a global tax that each can tap into and line their own pockets. This is a tax on carbon dioxide, a gas that is essential in growing the very food that we eat.
One extensive study called “A Tax-Based Approach to Slowing Global Climate Change” has proposed the amount of CO2 tax at least $5-$20 per ton of CO2. (www.rff.org) The UN has even published “THE LAZY PERSON’S GUIDE TO SAVING THE WORLD” with a list of what we peons can do. (www.un.org)
On January 13, 2016 in Seoul, South Korea, Secretary John Kerry’s at the U.S. Embassy laid out the goal of the United States Foreign policy Agenda. One of his subjects was climate change. He listed the progress we’ve made on climate change. “America is leading the fight against climate change with the most ambitious global climate agreement ever; We took America’s biggest step ever to combat climate change, which will cut carbon pollution from power plants by 32% by 2030; and Americans will save nearly $8,000 at the pump in 2025 thanks to doubling the fuel efficiency of our cars and light trucks.” (www.seoulusembassy.gov)
Kerry boasted about the U.S. leadership having made certain strides such as being responsible for keeping Iran from attaining a nuclear bomb, bringing 160,000 combat troops home from war, restoring diplomatic relations with Cuba, and leading in signing up nearly 200 countries in taking up the gauntlet to combat climate change. All of this without a complete verifiable commitment from China, the biggest coal burner on earth.
However, the coup de grace to all the problems of the world was his comments on ISIS. During his final “State of the Union” he downplayed the threat of these fanatical Islamic extremists. While addressing the Republicans constant warnings, he stated, “Over-the-top claims that this is World War III just play into their hands,” the president said, arguing that ISIS fighters “do not threaten our national existence.” The real meaning of this statement depends on whose side you are on.
Will the final year of Obama deliver us to the doors of the Tribulation? We are certainly in a position for the fulfillment of Matthew 24 which sets the tone for the most horrible seven years of this earth’s existence. We must never forget that God, not Satan, is in control and will follow His plan to the letter.
We as Christians must not fear the Tribulation because we will not be here on this earth—we will be with Jesus. God has the final word for us who are bought with His blood, “For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” (1Thessalonians 5:9-11)
Infiltrated II: The Hidden War Rages
by Larry Spargimino
Students in a college philosophy class were asked to describe life in one sentence. One student wrote: “Life is a big joke, and it isn’t funny.” Many would agree with him, but how does that fit into a worldview that believes in a good God who is working all things according to His purposes? In last month’s column I wrote about the shocking moral plunge downward of our nation and suggested there is more here than meets the eye. Is that why life isn’t funny?
The Conflict Behind The Conflict
The Bible does not allow us to conclude that every expression of evil is due solely to fallen human nature. When Scripture says “we wrestle not against flesh and blood” it doesn’t mean that we are wrestling against our fallen nature, but rather “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph. 6:12).
In Daniel chapter 10 we read of a hidden conflict. Daniel had been praying and fasting and humbling himself before God. His request had been heard in heaven, yet there was a problem. A messenger came in answer to Daniel’s prayer and explained, “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia” (vs. 13). Unger’s observation is revealing. He writes about demonic forces that “are those spirits that operate in the realm of governments of the satanic world system through the human agencies of kings, princes, and other governmental officials (Commentary On The Old Testament, p. 1674).
Could this be an explanation of what is happening in America? Are the recent decisions of the Supreme Court (Roe v Wade, Obergefell), Obamacare, the continued funding of Planned Parenthood, and many more, be the result of a breach in “forbidden gates”—portals to the other side that are opened by national apostasy? Before we reject such a suggestion as “off the wall,” remember that the Bible doesn’t speak of a “universe” but of a “multi-verse” – an unseen realm of a parallel reality that involves the presence of hostile, as well as benign, spiritual entities.
We find this multi-verse concept in 2 Kings chapter 6. Elisha’s servant was terrified because the enemy was so numerous. “And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha” (vss. 16-17).
We often hear of a New World Order conspiracy. Most people think there are some cigar-smoking billionaires behind closed doors designing it, or maybe slender women running veggies through a juicer and doing yoga stretches who are taking part. But the fact is, that’s only what you see. The real New World Order conspiracy is hidden from view. In a multi-verse situation the powers of darkness are the real movers and shakers.
God Is Sovereign But Is He Pleased With The Current State of Affairs?
Some Christians have developed a theology of resignation. God is controlling everything. Since He always gets His way He must be delighted in the current state of affairs. But do we realize what that means? If God is always getting His perfect will done, then any effort we make to change the situation—like putting an end to sex trafficking, the drug trade and a whole host of other evils-- is doomed to failure because we are fighting against God. So, Christians retreat in resignation: “What will be will be, so what’s the use?”
Many American Christians are paralyzed by this theology of resignation. They often appeal to Romans 13:1-7 to make their case for non-resistance. Many will even refrain from voting. If the President pushes some outrageously evil and ungodly program, they will say, “Well God put him into office. Let’s not be too critical.” The unspoken assumption is: To speak against a leader whom God has put in office is to speak against God.”
Divine sovereignty is often thought of in terms of Divine control and Divine causation. Misfortune, difficulty and setbacks are often attributed to some secret plan of God. But is sovereignty to be equated with control? Did God actually cause Israel’s multiple rebellions and times of apostasy because He had a secret plan and delighted in what happened? “When I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted NOT” (Isa. 65:12).
To be sure God does discipline His people in a variety of ways, but the discipline is discipline for sin and rebellion, not out of caprice or because of some hidden plan. The discipline is necessary but it is not an expression of joy on God’s part. “For he doth NOT afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men” (Lam. 3:33). In a most poignant way Jesus wept over Jerusalem: “How often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings [His will], and ye would not [their will]! (Matt. 23:37). Two verses later Jesus makes it clear that Jerusalem has a part to play: “For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, TILL YE SHALL SAY, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord” (vs. 39).
How much control does God willingly exercise over the affairs of men? Is there any room for chance, or is that a “bastard word”? In the story of the Good Samaritan Jesus tells of the man who fell among thieves. The man needed help. “And by chance there came down a certain priest” (Luke 10:31). Or how about the sparrow? Some Christians understand Matthew 10:29 as if it said: “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father willing it.” Yet, Jesus makes no reference to causation and simply says, “And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.” Unfortunately there are some who believe that granting any measure of responsible freedom to man dethrones God—the height of blasphemy, according to such individuals.
We live in a broken world populated by sick and hungry children, lives cut short by senseless violence, broken homes and marriages, poverty and war. If all of this is God’s doing why are we taught to pray, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven”? (Matt. 6:10).
The Bible does present a warfare world view, but it does not speak of two equally ultimate deities. Many of the pagan religions speak of spirits, demons and malevolent spirit entities. There is a never-ending battle between good and bad, light and darkness that will never end because neither deity is able to vanquish the other. However, this theological dualism is not the biblical view.
In the Biblical view evil is intelligent and volitional. We are warned about Satan’s “devices” (2 Cor. 2:11) and “the wiles [“schemings”] of the devil” (Eph. 6:11), but Satan is never presented as God’s equal. The demons had to get Jesus’ permission to enter the herd of swine. We read, “And forthwith Jesus gave them leave” (Mk. 5:12-13), even as Satan could do nothing to Job but what God allowed (Job 1:6-12).
In the background of Jesus’ ministry is the thought that there is a spiritual war in progress. Satan has taken something that is not his. Satan is referred to as the “prince [archon] of this world” (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11). Archon refers to the highest authority in a given area. There is a remarkable testimony to this in the temptations of Jesus. In Matthew 4:8-9 we read: “Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” Jesus never denied that they were in Satan’s possession. 1 John 5:19 explains that “the whole world lieth in wickedness.”
Jesus perceived many of the afflicted as being under attack from some kind of an alien and evil force in God’s good creation. He claimed that some, though not all, sickness had something to do with this alien and evil force. In Luke 13 we read of “a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years” (vs. 11). The ruler of the synagogue in which the miracle had taken place was indignant that Jesus “worked” on the Sabbath. Jesus’ response is enlightening: “And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” (vs. 16).
If someone asked, “Why did God become man and die on the cross?” many Christians would answer: “To save us from our sins.” That is certainly a good answer. Hebrews 2:14, however, completes the biblical picture: “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he night destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil” (cf. 1 Jn 3:8b). When Jesus drove out demonic entities the Kingdom was expanding. He was binding “the strong man” (Matt. 12:22-29). But does this mean that Satan is now bound and virtually powerless?
Amillennialists virtually discount even the possibility of demonic activity in the present age because they claim that the binding of Satan—The Millennium of Revelation 20—is not a future expectation but a present reality. Some Amillennialists like to call their view “Realized Millennialism,” indicating that the Millennium is a present reality. This, they would claim, explains the virtual non-existence of demonic encounters at the present time. Testimonies to such encounters are either fraudulent or purely delusional. “The meaning of this binding of Satan, then, is that Christ, at His first advent, brought about a conclusive victory, leaving Satan impotent to prevent the success of God’s kingdom” (Revelation: Four Views, Ed. Steve Gregg, p. 464).
I find this view to be totally unacceptable. Jesus’ binding of the strong man is true in principle, but not fully realized. If Amillennialism is correct there should be no demonic activity subsequent to the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ; yet we find much of it in the Book of Acts (8:7; 13:8-10; 16:16-19). Paul and his companions wanted to visit the church at Thessalonica, “but Satan hindered us” (1 Thess. 2:18). We are told that Satan goes about as a roaring lion seeking prey (1 Pet. 5:8). It’s hard to see how this squares with the Amillennial view. The hidden war is still raging.
