Find A Prayer Closet Today

| Josh Shields

“These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.” — Acts 1:14

Luke passes along incredible insight to Theophilus, who was a man of importance in Luke’s life. Jesus had just ascended, and the Apostles had gone to the Upper Room. They, along with the women and Mary, the mother of Jesus, went to pray and wait on the Holy Spirit to be poured out on the Jewish people.
If the lady that conceived of the Holy Ghost, carried Jesus in her womb, gave birth to Him in a lowly manger, and raised Him as an adolescent needs to pray and have an experience with the Spirit of God, how then do we excuse ourselves from the need of being empowered by the Holy Spirit?
Thank God for a man, “Dr. Luke,” who had the wherewithal, courage, and bravery to pick up a quill and record who was in the Upper Room.
Neither your position, status, nor circle of influence overrides the fact that you need an encounter with the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit. It is of abundant importance that Luke recorded this moment in history, imparting a truth to all of us. No one is going to make it out of here, on to Glory, without a true relationship, affiliation, or association with the Master.
May I ask, do you know Him? Have you repented? Have you turned your heart and life over to the King? If not, let me make a suggestion to you. Find a prayer closet today and get your journey started. If Mary, the mother of Jesus, had to pray and call on Jesus, don’t you think we need to?
Our prayer for you this week: If you don’t know Him, may you start your journey today.
