By The Power of Almighty God
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”Revelation 21:8
Fearfulness hangs in the shadows undetected by the human eye. It breeds, moves, and multiplies at the speed of thought itself. This embattlement of the mind thrives in our reaction, not pro-action. Like a squatter, uninvited, it will take up residence. Its address is the same in every nation, state, province, county, city, township, community, home, and family. It dwells in a 6” by 10” space between each individual’s ears.
Look at the company fearfulness keeps. How many times a day do we use the terms afraid, frightened, scared, terrified, or anxious? God never intended for us as believers to live, dwell, reside, stay, nor hang out in a world full of these spirits.
Paul reminds Timothy, a young pastor at Ephesus, in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Fear is a given spirit that God never intended for any believer to be controlled by.
David reminds us in Psalm 23:4, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” No matter how you feel, you nor I are the first generation to face this thing called fearfulness.
Be encouraged. In spite of what the world’s propaganda is, God is still on the throne. He has all things in total control. He knows the end from the beginning. It is time for all of us to realize as Psalm 118:24 states, “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in.”
Our prayer for you this week: May you come to realize fear never changed an outcome. May you overcome it today by the power of Almighty God.
