It’s No Match For God

| Josh Shields

When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;

For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. Deuteronomy 20:1-4 KJV

We all do it. Our ethnicity, lineage, worth, and size do not matter. It comes natural for all of us when we face the giant to size up the situation and predetermine the outcome. Everything from our approach to our departure is carefully planned, calculated, designed, and considered.

Too often, we head into battle with reservation about the outcome. This kind of spirit only breeds negativity in those around us. Remember, Paul penned in Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

In short, Moses wrote, through the inspiration of the Spirit of God, when you see how big the enemy, situation, circumstance, or condition is, be not afraid. Understand you are not facing, walking, living, or surviving this thing alone. God is with you, and He owns the day.

Our prayer for you this week: May you come to realize what you are facing is no match for our God.
