Follow Me!

Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. —1 Corinthians 11:1
Drafting is a term most reading this are familiar with. It can be heard around the house every weekend. As the race cars go around the track, you will hear the announcers comment on the effects drafting has on the cars in the race.
“Drafting: The practice of two or more cars, while racing, to run nose-to-tail, almost touching. The lead car, by displacing the air in front of it, creates a vacuum between its rear end and the nose of the following car, actually pulling the second car along with it.”
Paul likened our journey with Christ to a race (1 Corinthians 9:24, Hebrews 12:1). Maybe you find yourself struggling to keep up or even stay in the race at times. While others seem to be bursting ahead, it would seem you are losing ground.
No man is an island. Nowhere in scripture has it ever been written that you are doing this alone. Paul makes it clear to the church in Corinth, pull a drafting move. Follow me, “even as I also am of Christ.” Quit trying to do it all by yourself.
Remember, one can put a thousand to flight and two, ten thousand (Deuteronomy 32:30). We are stronger, faster, more powerful, and conserve energy when we run together.
The goal, trophy, or winners circle is much easier to reach when we learn to team up and run together. You might find out this race is much easier to run when you fall in line and follow Christ.
Our prayer for you this week: May you come to realize being a true follower of Christ will help you win the prize.
