In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. — Genesis 1:1-3
This passage of Scripture is one of the first we learn in Sunday school. It has become so common to us that we quote it without passion, overlooking one of the greatest revelations God has for us. From the get go, God reveals the process, course, or progression of how to hear His voice.
Many of us reading this have questioned where God is, just like those in 2 Peter 3:4 who said, “Where is the promise of his coming?” Some are asking, “Where is the voice of God today?”
In the New Testament we find the same secret to God speaking in Matthew 3:16-17, “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
The voice of God is never heard until the Spirit of God is moved. Then He speaks and ministers to the situation.
If you are needing to hear from God, may I ask when is the last time you allowed His Spirit to move, transform, or change your life? When is the last time you granted the Spirit of God passage in your life? If you will do this, He will speak to not only your situation, but He will speak in you as well.
Our prayer for you today: May you allow the Spirit of God to move in your life so He can speak to your situation.
