Is there anything too hard for God?

Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. —Genesis 18:14
Life balances on if. When you remove the L from the beginning and the E from the end, you have the word “if.” This brings to remembrance the words of James 4:15, “For that you ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.”
This morning, when your feet hit the ground you had a thousand “ifs” going through your mind. IF the business deal goes through, IF the loan goes through, IF the commute goes well, IF the board approves, IF the job offer happens, IF the contract comes through, IF the doctor report is what we want. On and on the list goes.
You are not alone. You are joined by everyone from parishioner to pastor, from employee to CEO, from the penthouse to skid row. One thing I know: There is one common denominator. We are all one “if” from success or failure, from fatal to cure, from sorrow to joy, destruction to revival.
Don’t allow the “ifs” to dominate, control, lead, or direct your destiny. May I remind you of Abraham who received a promise at 75. He would be the father of a great nation and Sarah was beyond child-bearing age. It wasn’t until Abraham was 100 years old that he saw the promise fulfilled. Twenty-five years in the waiting. How many “ifs” do you think went through his mind?
Just like the messenger asked the question, “Is there anything too hard for God?”—may I ask you the same question today? Block out the “ifs.” Your success, cure, joy, and revival are on the way.
Our prayer for you this week: May you come to realize there is nothing too hard for God.
