China absorbed one-third of Mongolia, today known as Inner Mongolia. Russia took the remaining two-thirds. In 1989, Mongolia regained independence at the breakup of the Soviet Union. Independent Mongolia, which includes the Gobi Desert, is approximately the size of the United States east of the Mississippi River.
In 1990, only four Christians could be located in Mongolia. Today, there are two hundred churches in the country. Southwest Radio Ministries supplies funds to maintain missionaries and Bibles in the Mongolian language to new Christians.
Bibles for Mongolia are printed in Japan. Each Bible plus freight costs approximately $4. $100 supplies 25 Bibles; $1,000 supplies 250 Bibles.
Christmas 2013 Update from Larry and Ann Gue
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21).
We have so much to be thankful for and so much to praise God for: our salvation and the salvation of hundreds of souls in Mongolia this past year. I am excited to see what God will do in the coming year and for what work the Mongolian pastors we support will do in their churches.
God has richly blessed each of the churches there with many souls saved. Bibles given to new believers, and Bible lessons taught. Many teenagers were led to Christ, and trained in the Word of God which enabled them to witness and bring other teens into the family of God.
Little children were given children's Bibles, vitamins to help them during the severe winter months, and prayed over by their teachers. Baby blankets were given to new mothers. The summer camps in each of the churches were a great success, and many new believers were baptized in the Mongolian river. Bible lessons were taught each day of camp, and games were played to show them how much fun Christians can have together.
Please continue to pray for us and for Pastor Augie, Pastor Jagaa, Pastor Bold, Bastor Sambuu, Pastor Moogie, and their ministry teams in each church there. It is because you have earnestly prayed for them and have faithfully supported their ministry that we can continue to do the work.
We pray you have a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. Faithfully we serve together with you.
