Jed’s sister, Mandy, is captured by a Comanche war party. Ignoring the danger to himself, Jed immediately rides to her rescue and is also captured. Taken to a Comanche village many miles to the west, both young people realize that none of their family or friends know their whereabouts and that rescue is impossible.
To their chagrin, they learn that they will probably be killed at the Feast of the Full Moon, a pagan ritual in which the spirits are summoned.
