What you were promised.

But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. Numbers 33:55

God has made a promise to Moses saying speak to the children of Israel when you pass over the Jordan into Canaan saying, “Ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places: And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land.”

God goes on to say if you don’t drive them out they shall be pricks in your eyes, thorns in your sides and shall vex the land where you dwell.

How many things were we supposed to drive, steer, manage, or navigate out of our lives, homes, businesses, marriages, and churches, but didn’t? How many break room, water fountain, and greenroom discussions would cease if we would drive out some things.

Could it be our marriage would be successful if we put out some old flames? Or maybe our churches would grow if we would call in conviction and drive out sin, wrong, and transgression? Maybe our businesses would flourish if we removed the disgruntled employee instead of pacifying their every desire, and our homes might become more settled if we would refuse the opportunity for filth to cross our thresholds.

It is time for all who read this to accept the challenge of driving out things we thought would disappear on their own. Quit talking about the pricks, thorns, and all the vexation of your home, marriage, business or church and start cleaning the house and the closet for a better, successful marriage, home life, business, and church.

Our prayer for you this week: May God give you the strength to take possession of what you were promised.
